This was an absolutely fabulous World Cup Championship. And the finals, the musical freestyle, the kur, on Saturday night, were breath taking. Was fortunate to be present at this event; the excitement kept rising through the entire evening. Anky van Grunsven won, but to me, the indisputable highlight of the competition was Debbie McDonald and Brentina's Motown freestyle. The cheering almost blew the roof off the arena. In 2009 McDonald and Brentina retired from competition, the ceremony was held at this same championship. Many of the riders and horses, are familiar from the current competitions, as well as the 2008 summer Olympics, and some are now retired. If you want to spend 90 minutes in dressage heaven, this is the video for you.
