Cover is tan with color paste down in center of front; gold lettering on front and spine. Illustrated with six b/w drawings on glossy paper. This is the fifth in the series of Anne of Avonlea stories. Title page states Boston * The Page Company * MDCCCCXX. Copyright page states 1920 by the Page Company; entered at Stationers' Hall, London, First Impression, March, 1920; The Colonial Press, C. H. Simonds Co. , Boston, USA. Pages are stitched in; pages still tight. Deckled, unevenly cut edges. Back of book has 6 pages, unnumbered, each describing another title. Following that is a 12 page [numbered] section of 'Selections from the Page Company's List of Fiction'. Scarce title in remarkably good condition. ; Anne of Avonlea Series; B&W Illustrations; 5 1/4 x 7 3/4; 301+ pages; Cover has light bumping, shelf wear, sunning, rubbing/scuffing. Faint sunning/foxing on front endpaper. Owner's name neatly written in black ink, along with date: August 12, 1920, on front endpaper, along with faint pencil writing shadow under the name. Back of half-title page, frontispiece page [front and back], tissue, and title page have some kind of tannish/light brown staining, possibly from a liquid, which reaches down 2 3/4" from top and 2 1/4" in from spine. Very few pages have small or faint mark.
