Pages are clean and tight. Edited by Henshaw and intro by William H. Peck. Published in association with the Founders Society, Detroit Institute of Arts [DIA]. Lushly illustrated with over 100 color photos. The DIA is one of the foremost art museums in the United States, and lucky me, it's my local art museum, and a great joy to visit. The Motor City automobile barons have been very generous with donating art and funds to the DIA for many decades, along with other patrons. As a result, the art collections range from mummies of ancient Egypt and other relicts of the ancient world, to African and Native American art, the Renaissance and a fabulous collection of impressionist art, including a van Gogh self portrait. Includes my favorite painting in collection, Hans Holbein the Younger's Portrait of a Woman [pages 98-99]. Oversized, 4#. Good companions to this book are #1656 also by Henshaw, and #1484 by Alan P. Darr. ; Color Illustrations; 10 x 10; 237 pages; Very slgiht edge wear and bumping.
