Cover is glazed boards. Endpapers have photos of a herd grazing. Pages are clean and tight. Translated by Patricia Crampton. Originally published in Austria. Pages not numbered. Every page has a color photo, so intimate and loving, it makes you feel you are right there with this herd, and could reach out and touch them. Naturalist Sybille Kalas travelled to Iceland to study the remnants of the true wild horses. She follows this herd as they travel over their natural surroundings, wandering across the almost unpopulated Icelandic countryside. My favorite picture is of the the two horses sharing grooming behavior. ; Color Photographs; 9 1/.2 x 8 3/4; 47 pages; Cover has some edge wear and rubbing/scuffing.
