Albert Bloch [1882-1961] was an American artist, and at an early age he produced caricatures for the St. Louis satirical weekly the Mirror. He was in Munich from 1909-1921, where he met and worked with Kandinsky and Mare, the founders of the revolutionary art movement the Blue Rider Group. On his return to America he became a Prof. Of Art at the Univeristy of Kansas (Lawrence) . Essays are written by both American and German scholars, each in their native language of English or German.
